GHANA ENERGY AWARDS COMMITTEE TOURS THE BUI GENERATING STATION

On October 25, 2023, a three-member delegation representing the Ghana Energy Awards (GEA) Committee paid a visit to the Bui Generating Station with the primary objective of inspecting and validating the various projects completed by the Bui Power Authority.

This visit also served as an essential part of the evaluation process for the different award categories for which the Authority has been nominated.

 The delegation was composed of Dr. Daniel Kwame Tsuitsui Ampofo (Chairman), Ing. Henry Kwaku Attoh Teinor (CEO) and Mr. Emmanuel Abossey. 

The GEA delegation was welcomed by a team from the Corporate Affairs unit, led by Adriana Appiah-Nkansah and accompanied by Lydia Adu Gyamfi, Judah Emmanuel Newman, and Carlos deGraft Savage.

 The visit included informative presentations by the Power Operations Department, Renewable Energy Department, Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment, Lands Administration Department, and finally, Ing. Kwame Boakye Danquah Addai who has been nominated in the “Rising Star” category.

The GEA panelists toured the POD Control Room, The Battery Storage System (BESS), and the 5MW PV floating solar system at the Solar Site. 

They also visited the Sugar Cane Factory and the Cashew Factory at Fawoman and Bui.

The 2023 Ghana Energy Awards is set to be held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Friday, November 17th, 2023.
